Year 5 had a visitor on Wednesday: the amazing local author - Gareth Baker. He did a whole school assembly about our Learning Habits and then worked in both of the Year 5 classes throughout the day.
Simeran and her friends have worked tremendously hard over the last seven weeks to do as many different things to raise money for Cancer Research. They have done an outstanding job and have so far raised over £400! Please head over to our giving page to help us build on this total. We will be collecting dry or tinned food for the Syrian refugee appeal promoted by Year 4 in their Harvest assembly for the next few weeks (until the Friday after half term). Please donate what you can!
Some of the Year 5 girls want to improve our school environment by encouraging everyone to be more careful with their rubbish. They are also going to have a club on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday to make things from recycled materials. Welcome back to another academic year at Scotholme. There are lots of new things coming your way this year - the two newest arrivals are our amazing table tennis tables!
Head over to the updated School Diary, visit the Year group pages for 2015-16, read our latest policies and information, or see the long term planning for this academic year. Please bear with us as we re-organise and update the website over the next week or so. We hope you enjoy the new school year - it's great to see everyone back! An early start today for Year 6. Head over to the London 2015 blog to see our day at the Houses of Parliament, The London Eye and a river cruise down the Thames!
If you've ever read Elmer, then you might know what an elephant parade is. If you haven't, look at the amazing photos and you'll see one! The parade needs to be seen to be believed - each class was challenged to build an elephant and after a lot of resilience, collaboration, discipline, imagination and curiosity, here they all are! Come back soon for more information about the elephants and look out for them in new homes in September! |
