Common Sense Media is a brilliant website offering details on how to keep your children safe whilst using the internet. They rate films and TV series for their appropriateness and give recommended ages for various apps and games.

These have included card tricks, feats of memory and juggling. As a result, we have decided to set up the Scotholme Book Of Records (similar to the Guinness Book Of Records). To be published over the half term holiday (February 13th - 21st), the first edition should open the doors to more amazing attempts to astound from our children. If you're feeling like breaking some records, get practising and think about our 5 Learning Habits and how you can show them in your record attempt (Collaboration, Curiosity, Discipline, Imagination and Resilience)!
The ISS (International Space Station) orbits over Britain each day. You can spot it at various times - here is a CBeebies Guide to spotting it. For a more detailed location, you can go to this website to see where and when you can see the station over Nottingham. The ISS currently has its first British astronaut aboard, Major Tim Peake.
Some children in Year 6 have been learning about the fascinating number known as pi. You can see more about it here. One member of Year 6 is currently trying to memorise as many digits of pi as possible! Impressive stuff. The current World Record, according to Guinness World Records is 70,000! Watch out for more news on pi on the 14th March (pi day).

![]() This week is Anti-Bullying Week. We will be working with the children on Anti-Bullying all the way through November but this week we are focusing on Cyber Bullying. There will be a Parents' Workshop on Tuesday at 9.30am after our whole school assembly. In addition to this, parents can visit the e-Safety page to get further advice and information. To coincide with Anti-Bullying month in school, three members of staff (Ms Easson, Ms Trabuc and Mrs Futers) have just completed a course on how we can deal with bullying and promote healthy relationships. Thank you for completing the course in your own time!
