![]() After having one inspirational visitor on Wednesday, we had a second one on Thursday: Offrande Zanzala, who left our school in 2008. Over the intervening time, Offrande has been working incredibly hard to make his way through the ranks at Derby County FC and this season, he is hoping to break into the first team. We will all be supporting him and be cheering him on when he makes his debut. He is currently coming back from a major injury which he suffered almost a year ago. We are incredibly proud of his success and a lot of the children in school now have a new footballing hero!

Marcellus Baz visited us this week. He was awarded the highly prestigious Sports Personality of The Year Unsung Hero award in December. He talked to us about how he had made bad decisions when he was at school and how he had to change his life dramatically. He then explained what he is doing now and how he works with young people in inner city areas to help them succeed.
Beat The Street is back. We appear to be in a bigger battle with Victoria Primary School this year than last, so we need all the help that we can get. Get out there and Beat those streets so that we can invest more money in PE equipment. The exercise bikes we bought last year have been used incessantly since they arrived - this year we would like to extend our range of table tennis equipment.

Please note, this link takes you to an external website, which the content of which we cannot control. As we have been to Twickenham to support England several times now, we won a competition to take part in an amazing, once in a lifetime event on the pitch itself. Thank you to everyone who helped to make the day happen - these are memories we will have forever! After collating all of the evidence from various questionnaires, he is our latest travel plan: ![]()
Mr Hampson and Miss Brown set the whole school the challenge of taking one photograph to enter a competition. Here are the winners: The Third Space Learning website has published a guide to help parents with maths at home. There is a KS1 (Year 1 and 2) and a KS2 section (Year 3-6). We hope this makes parents feel more confident when talking about maths at home with your children.
Third Space Learning Parents' Guide Apologies to anyone who tried to use the link below, which then did not work for you. Please e-mail the photographs to the following address: [email protected] Thank you for taking part in Earth Hour, which was the largest Earth Hour in its 10 year history. Earth Hour is nearly here. 8.30pm until 9.30pm. Remember to photograph your Hour and send to the link below. Scotholme was on Capital FM this morning at 10am, talking about why we take part in Earth Hour. Join us on Saturday night to celebrate Earth Hour with millions of others.
Send your photographs of the way you celebrated Earth Hour to our website and you may win the competition! Click here to send your photograph. Everything is going well so far. Lots of teachers now have strange colours on their heads - what amazing volunteers! At the end of the day, after all the different tubs of money have been counted, we have raised over £1750 so far. There is still money to come in - can we beat our record from two years ago of £1815? Thank you to everyone who has put so much hard work in to make today such a success. To all the staff who weren't afraid to be laughed at; the children who gave up their lunch-times to run activities; the school council and Mrs Atkins for coming up with ideas and organising events and especially to Mrs Turner who orchestrated the whole day so well. Finally, thanks most of all to you, the parents and carers, who continually send money to support our fundraising activities. You are amazing and we are lucky to have such supportive and generous parents and carers.
